Karafiat Literature
Company Information

Karafiat Literature was in existence from 1989 to 2000. In its time it was a well respected publisher of a paper-based poetry chapbook, as well as multiple online poetry resources (webzines).

The quarterly chapbook "Shadowlands" ran from 1989 to 1992 and was available in Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado. The online poetry webzine Immortali Et Mors ran from 1994 to 1998. The online literary criticism webzine "Dead Letters" ran from 1998 till 2000.

The name Karafiat is used by the founder with great respect to his family who were displaced from their home of Brunn, CZ during WW2. It was that yearning for home that prompted Karl Karafiat to paint pictures of his hometown. That inspiration lead to many great pieces of art, and a desire to follow in his footsteps.
